Sask Highway 32 Potholes on Highway 32

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why was this website created?

The condition of Highway 32 is a significant concern to those of us who rely on Hwy 32. Individuals made numerous complaints to the Minister of Highways with little effect. Travellers had no mechanism to express their dismay or opinions noted. This site was created to act as a clearing house for information and concerns of all Hwy 32 users.

2. Will my posting be placed on the site as written?

All posted comments are initially routed through the site administrator, Gordon Stueck, to ensure posting suitability. Postings containing threats or obscene remarks will not be posted and are deleted upon receipt. Comments that contain unsubstantiated reports or allegations and/or are libelous in nature will also not be published. All comments may be edited for length or for the purpose of clarity. Preference will be given to comments using a name, initial and/or home town, rather than a pseudonym.

3. How do I protect my identity if I wish to post a comment?

As all postings are routed through the administrator before being placed on the site, you may direct how you wish to be acknowledged, but generally we will default to your first initial, last name and place of origin (ie. G. Stueck, Leader, SK). You may direct us to use only your initials (ie. G.S., Leader,SK) or, if you wish to remain anonymous (ie. Anonymous, Leader, SK). We respect your right to privacy and are using the above guidelines to ensure the validity of the postings, and to provide confidentiality and security for those posting.

4. Why have you been charging for the bumper stickers, videos, and calendar, but not the postcards?

Postcards were printed in bulk and were relatively inexpensive on an individual basis. We printed 3000 postcards in a four picture series for approximately $600. To recoup the cost of the cards through individual sales would have been tedious and counter-productive. Our goal has been to ensure maximum distribution for effect - giving the cards away at locations along Hwy 32 meets that goal.

5. Where is the money going from the sale of bumper stickers?

The bumper stickers cost approximately $1.25 each based on an initial run of 300. They are being sold as a fundraiser and will go for maintenance repairs to the Leader Ambulance. All proceeds from the bumper sticker sales, minus the printing costs, will be given to the Leader Ambulance.

6. What is happening with the money from the sale of the video?

The revenue generated from the sales of the video will be used to offset the cost of printing the postcards, maintaining the website and paying for the signs that have been posted on Highway 32. Surplus monies have been used to help with the purchase of an automatic blood pressure machine for the Leader Ambulance. Approximately $1800 has been put towards the $4500 purchase.

7. What is happening with the money from the sale of the calendars?

The Highway 32 Calendars are a project of the Leader Lions Club, and all revenue generated from calendar sales goes to the Leader Lions Club for community initiatives. To date, around 3,000 calendars have been sold and the Leader Lions Club has netted about $40,000 towards fixing the roof on the Leader Community Centre, and other worthwhile community projects.
